On this page you can follow the adventures of our rolling stone aptly named Freddy Flintstone!! Freddy was given to us, before we headed off on our travels, by a good friend of Toms, Allen. He sent it in the Irish express post and unbelievably it arrived before we left!! It came with a note saying that it was a lucky stone from the highest peak in Ireland, Carrauntoohil (1038m) and that we should take it with us!!! I think he just wanted to add more weight to our already heavy bags but we stuck him in!!!!
Freddy has already reached new heights!!!!
We took Freddy on an epic adventure climbing the world´s third highest volcano, Cotopaxi. He arrived safely to the base of the glacier at 4810m. Altitude sickness didn´t seem to have any impact on him.

We felt that Freddy looked a bit lonely and so we hooked him up with a new girlfriend for the trip, Polly Pumice!! She is a hot red volcanic rock, native to the foothills of Cotopaxi often found in Boots in the footcare section!!

Freddy and Polly spent a romantic evening at the Papallacta Hot Springs. This was the first stop on our over land tour of Ecuador and we were all amazed by the standard of accomodation!!
Galapagos Islands...
Freddy and Polly put on their adventure hats and got out their binoculars to take a close look at some of the strange wildlife in the Galapagos!
